Brazilians cannot join the hackathon

Why can't Brazilians join this hackathon? I command a hackathon team and we had a good idea for this one, but when we saw the rules, it said people in Brazil are not allowed for this hackathon. Is there any specific reason for it?

    Hey Pedro,

    I'm sorry :( There are complicated competition laws in Brazil that prohibit most global hackathons from running locally. If you wanted to submit, we could display the entry but unfortunately it wouldn't be eligible for prizes.

    Ok. So we would not be eligible for cash prizes, or all prizes? If it's only for cash prizes and if one of us had a bank account in another country, would, then, we be eligible for it?

    Hey Pedro,

    You wouldn't be eligible for any prizes, unfortunately. All members of the team have to be eligible so just having a foreign bank account isn't sufficient. I'm sorry!
